Metroid Dread is a revelation, being an incredibly worthy sequel to Fusion on a modern platform. The controls are slightly updated, using the analog stick for full range of motion when aiming. Dread expands upon the horror elements of Metroid Fusion's SA-X with the terrifying E.M.M.I. robots that hunt Samus throughout the game. There are a myriad of challenging bosses that require pattern memorization and execution to defeat, and puzzles to complete in order to find hidden items. Much like previous Metroid games, it is very satisfying to gain new abilities and access things that were previously impossible to reach. The story picks up right where Fusion left off, and things such as the X Parasites come into play once again on ZDR.
